[Young Journalist Sophia Lee] The CEO of Apple Tim Cook visiting China and meeting Popmart’s CEO who made the doll Labubu that took the world by storm has become a hot topic. 
 
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) of Hongkong on the 14th, Tim Cook ,who visited China twice this year, met the Labubu designer from Hong Kong Kasing Lung and the Popmart CEO Ning Wang at the Labubu exhibition held in Shanghai Huangpu.

CEO Cook shared a post on Weibo(Chinese X) saying “I enjoyed watching the process of designing Labubu by using iPad Pro” with a video taken during his visit.

He received a gift from them, a Labubu that resembles him with the same glasses and clothing. The doll holds Apple’s new iPhone 17 cosmic orange in its hand.

SCMP said that what they were specifically discussing is unknown.

However, after their meeting was reported, the stock price of Popmart on that day rose by 6%, on the Hong Kong stock market.

Labubu is a representative character of Chinese toy brand Popmart, made by Kasing Lung. It is one of the characters of ‘The Monsters’, a small fairy that has 9 sharp teeth.

As they partnered with Popmart and became a character doll that is sold by a random box, it has gained worldwide popularity.
